Find out information about being a small group or bible study leader at Waushara Community Church.
The elders are grateful for those engaged in teaching ministries at WCC and we encourage you to continue your crucial role in helping to disciple our congregation. We have a few updates on policies for small group and bible study material in regards to WCC groups, please read the update below. Thank you.
Background: Biblically, the focal point of all church leadership is the elder. It is the elders who are charged with teaching, feeding and protecting the church, and it is the elders who are accountable to God on behalf of the church. Proper biblical government by elders strengthens the church. One of the duties the Elders are charged with is to ensure the Scriptural integrity of teachings within the church which are set forth in the following Scriptures:
1 Timothy 5:17 [preaching and teaching]
1 Thessalonians 5:12 [labor, lead, and admonish in the Lord]
Hebrews 13:17 [give an account over souls]
Acts 20:28-31 [guard and shepherd God’s flock]
1 Peter 5:1-4 [living examples of holiness]
Titus 1:9-11 [hold to and encourage with sound doctrine, refute and silence heresy]
Therefore: All Waushara Community Church ministries, including but not limited to, Christian Education; Small/Community Groups; Home Bible Studies promoted through WCC media platforms; Youth Group; Adult, Teen and Children Sunday School programs; Worship Team; Community Events; Vacation Bible School, etc. shall submit to the Elder Board the curriculum, books, videos, or teachings of any scriptural subject prior to implementing the specific ministry for review and approval.
